Overview
The Laurel Mountain energy storage project is a fully-integrated portion of the Laurel Mountain Wind Farm, develop with AES Wind. The energy storage portion of the project provides frequency regulation in the PJM market while also being available to help manage the rapid rate of change of output that can occur with fluctuations in wind conditions. The project achieved commercial operation in the third quarter of 2011 and is currently supplying emissions free operating reserve capacity in the PJM market.
